Aerides houlletiana

This is Aerides houlletiana var am x var Buttercup No. 1. I bought this one from Brighton Orchids several years ago as a small plant. Grows like a weed and flowers with ease, smells interesting... like spice! I also posted this orchid in flower last year at this time.
These are the best photos I have ever taken of this orchid. It is difficult because the colours are varied and the flowers are densely packed in, causing lack of obvious definition.
I used the macro lens in indoor natural light for the close ups - a flash for the longer shot. I had to use the tripod of course.

Mini Cat

This is the only mini Cat I own! It is called C. Toowong ‘Sherwood’ x Sc Beaufort ‘Yellow Lip’ and it has several award listings - HCC/ADC/AN
I bought it from Arambeen Orchids in Decption Bay many years ago. It is slow growing and I've waited a long time for this flowering, it's second.
